Hello everyone,
I am so happy and feeling honoured to have been invited again by Artdeco Creations to be the Guest Designer for the month of October.
When I picked up the package from Artdeco Creations, I thought that Christmas is just around the corner... maybe you are already preparing something nice for Christmas such a presents to give for your family or friends. I am always excited when talking about Christmas and present lol!
So today I would love to share with you a mixed media layout and one extra card that I made that might give you an inspiration to make and gift to someone special on Christmas day.
"JINGLE ALL THE WAY"
I choose this photo of my nephew and nieces, taken last Christmas, they look very happy and can't wait to open their Christmas presents.
I had so much fun creating this layout.
So many beautiful papers in the It's Beginning To look a lot like Christmas collection. I started with picking a few sheets from 12" x 12" patterned paper pad.
Using three different patterned paper for my base layout, I first picked the brown patterned paper (see below photo on far left) then I tore strips from the bottom and top (see middle photo) I trimmed the strip with the holy leaves (as shown in the photo on the right)
Using the photo as a guide, I've then assembled the torn strips, patterned paper and the strip with the holy leaves over the green cardstock.
To designed a background of the layout, I started by sponging the middle of layout quite thinly with gesso - I used Acrylic Gesso from the Anna Griffin Collection. Once the layout was dry, I stamped randomly with the Fractal Snowflakes clear stamp using versamark ink and then put gold embossing powder and heat set to make a textured background.
I created a mist by mixing the Couture Creations Mix and Match pigment - green powder and Acrylic White gesso with water and flicked over my layout with a brush. Once this was dry I added some random stamping with black inkpad using the Joyeaux Noel from Winter Wonderland stamp set.
Next up is fussy cutting hmmm why not? lol...... So I fussy cut all of the poinsenttia flowers from the patterned paper in the It's Beginning To look a lot like Christmas collection pack so that I could layer it underneath my photo.
This particular paper has so many beautiful elements on it.
Now it's time to put your layout together, start by adding some papers under your photo to make more dimension with double sided foam mounting tape.
I adding some die cut flowers from the Vellum Decoupage Sheet..... Ohh they look very beautiful, don't they? and they come already cut so they are very easy to use.... no more fussy cutting!
I also stamped small snowflakes randomly here and there with white ink pad and finished with a small crystal gemstones and then scattered some extra for a touch more bling.
As a finishing touch, with dry brush I applied white gesso in all of the edges of the embellishments and paper to give a softer effect and white glitter.
Here are some close up photos
And for last project, I've created a mixed media card with the same paper collection as the Layout. With the same techniques of applying stamping and embossed for making a background on the card and also splashed white gesso that has been mixed with water.
"BE MERRY"

Adding Christmas Flourish die underneath the flower and paper then put some crystal gemstones on it.
I used the rest of the paper by rolling them to make a straw embelishment and tied them up together with string and glued it.
Thank you so much for looking and see you next time.
Happy crafting xxx
